Determine the objective and desired outcome.
Identify and organise the stakeholders who or are required
in order to bring the project to completion.
Identify the project manager, this should be accepted by all
involved in the project.
Create scenarios on how to achieve the desired outcome
(Brainstorm). Make a date when a written draft will be
presented.
Identify risks to the project (global economic forces,
natural disasters, competition, capital invested, personnel,
prices, etc.). Identify the warning signs.
Identify the resources, the people, hardware and software,
and the time required to complete the objectives.
Organise the stakeholders. Review the project so far, the
risks, the resources, and schedule. Determine the best path,
resources and schedule.
Create a formal project schedule.
Ensure all stakeholders are committed to achieving their
goals.
Create a list of initial actions and goals that must be
started and completed. Identify the stakeholders and dates.
Request specific, realistic dates for the completion of
goals, make this information public. Communicate all success and
failure to meet deadlines and goals to the group. Resolve any
issues to enable success where possible.
For any major problems or setbacks, gather the relevant
stakeholders to agree new goals and dates of completion.
Celebrate the significant milestones and victories.
